Family Funday OOTD

Sunday, February 28, 2016

I have finally come to terms with winter and gave in to going outside. It's been a struggle to say the least, the thought of me even attempt to go out when the cold wind cuts right through you turned me into a hibernating mama bear. Luckily, this past Sunday it warmed up a little where I live. I ditched the winter gear and grabbed my green wool coat from Old Navy for a family fun day. The coat has a waterfall drape in the front and is belted as well. I love the color because it jazzes up the neutrals I've been gravitating towards recently. Another plus is the cost, sometimes I forget about the great stuff you can find at Old Navy and find myself in awe of their prices. I recently bought the coat but can't locate it on Old Navy's website although, I was able to locate a similar one:

I wore my staple black pumps from Zara and added a not so basic tee from Forever 21.

Faux Leather Leggings OOTD

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

I am not going to lie, when the 'don't wear leggings as pants' thing arose a little piece of me died inside. I had been guilty as charged and reluctantly gave them up as everyday wear. Leggings are so comfortable though!!! I can easily find myself in them 24/7 plus. So, when I found these faux leather leggings a light bulb clicked in my head. I found these at H&M.

They are perfect because they easily dress up a casual outfit and are very comfortable (don't be intimidated by the look). I had to get a couple of things accomplish today. This outfit kept me looking put together and comfortable at the same time. My blouse was from Thakoon for Kohls in a great floral print. (It's on sale too!!!)

I finished off the look with Zara heels and Dolce and Gabanna satchel bag.

Similar in grey

I hope you can find inspiration in my look! Feel free to comment below and remember to always shine your brightest!

Winter in NYC Casual Look

Monday, February 8, 2016

It's been a minute since Mohsen and I were able to get out and meet up with our friends. It was nice to get out like we used to, although scrolling through my  camera roll, staring at pics of my son was what I was doing the majority of the time. We met up with my sister in law for her husband's birthday. We were supposed to go to karaoke but one thing led to another and we ended up in an escape room. It's something I've never done before but always was interested in doing. It's still cold in NYC, so I wore a long wool coat from Zara. This thing is awesome, it keeps me warm and buttons up to cover my neck, meaning that if I forget my scarf I'm covered. I received this coat a while back from Zara but you can find similar ones here:

My boots were a practical find. Now that I'm a mommy, I frequent Zuilly.com often and somehow always find myself in the mommy section, that's where I found these flat over the knee boots. There is a good deal of legroom in this pair and are ready for everyday wear.

I found out they are sold out there, but you may be capable to find them here:

My tights are my tried and tested black opaque ones from express. My my incredible shirt dress I got at Topshop Nordstrom by Leith. I love the sliming and chic white stripes. The drawstring belt around the waist gives you a lot of flexibility as well. Found here:
